Getting Around Ballater:
The Willis family will be providing shuttles from Stirling, Edinburgh, and the EDI airport on Thursday, August 7th and returning to EDI airport on Sunday, August 10th for anyone who so chooses. The shuttle service will be available for all guests during the wedding weekend. We will soon begin to collect all travel information for coordination purposes.
The choice to rent a car or use the shuttle is entirely up to you.
Please note that there is NO Uber in the town of Ballater.
If you wish to rent a rental car, please note that the drivers side of the car is located on the right hand side of the car.
Please ensure your car is not electric or manual (if you prefer automatic).

Staying In Ballater:
Lodging and meals for 3 nights (8.7.2025-8.10.2025) will be provided for all in Ballater, at Gairnshiel (see property link below).
Rooming arrangements will be given at a later date.
There are 6 different properties on the grounds of Gairnshiel. These 6 properties are nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
Wedding Weekend Itenerary:
We are still working through all of the itenerary/details for our time in Ballater, but below is our rough outline for the wedding weekend:
Thursday, August 7th:
-Shuttles from Edinburgh & Stirling to Gairnshiel (2.5-3 hours)
-Lunch provided at accomodation & free time (exploring the region & lodge)
-Shuttles to main lodge (15 mins)
-Open air reception at main lodge
-Walking dinner ‘braveheart style’
-Hanging out under the stars
-Shuttles back to the lodges (15 mins)
Friday, August 8th:
-Breaskfast baskets at accomodations
-Activity options (signup will be provided in advance)
-Group lunch
-Free time & getting ready for wedding ceremony
-Shuttles to Crathie Kirk Church for wedding ceremony
-Shuttles to main lodge for open air reception
-Seated dinner
-Cake - dancing - music - party!
Saturday, August 9th:
-Breaskfast baskets at accomodations
-Shuttles to main lodge
-Optional highland walk (Amazing views!!!)
-Mini Highland Games + Grub
-Shuttle back to lodges & refresh
-Shuttles to restaurant for dinner

-Breaskfast baskets at accomodations
-Travel Day ~ Shuttles provided
